Yes, there is a Square app called customer display that you can run on a forward facing iPad. It shows line by line as you scan items. It's in beta but can be downloaded at the following link.

I had to call in to square customer service to get the customer display "switch" flipped on my account so the iPad could see the iPad mini running the program. Took a few minutes but they got it figured out.
