total outstanding gift card balances for 2021

My CPA needs a total of my outstanding gift card balances for 2021. All the reports i pull up say something different. I just need a total that was left outstanding for the year. Does anyone know how to get this? I tried the detailed report and it doesn't even make sense to me. There has to be an easier way.

Hi @Beth78! I presume your CPA is looking for the outstanding balance of gift cards that have ever been sold as of 12/31/21; that would include gift cards sold in prior years but not yet fully redeemed. Is that right? 

If so, then you can view that information by heading to the Gift Cards section of the Dashboard. The total outstanding balance will be listed near the top right corner. I'm not sure why this info isn't listed in the Reports > Gift Cards section of the Dashboard, it seems like it belongs there.

One caveat is that number will include the balance for this year's gift card sales. Getting the year end figure for 2021 will require some math:

1. Go to the Gift Card Reports section of the Dashboard.
2. Choose "This Year" as the date range.
3. Take the number listed at the bottom under "Net Amount" and subtract it from the outstanding balance. That will give you the outstanding balance as of 12/31/21.
