my brand new chip card reader, will not share, is blinking one green dot, then red dots.

I originally tried to charge the reader through the new dock that I bought with it, but switched to charge direct, thinking that would make a difference, it has not. the blinking is pretty constant - one green dot, one red dot, 4 red dots. It does not respond to my pressing the power button at all. I tried linking it and no success with that either. Has this happened to anyone? Have I got a dud?

Have you tried to contact tech support? I had an issue with my bluetooth chip reader last summer and they got back to me quickly and offered to send a replacement.....but I reread the instructions that came with the reader and went back through the setup step by step. I had been holding the sync button down too long.
