how to stop our square stands from making us re enable badges by entering a passcode

We run square for restaurants on ipads in the square stands. I have enable badges for my employees but once a few minutes have passed and no one has logged in the badges dont work unless we type in a passcode to "re enable badges". This makes no sense to me. What is the point of badges if i have to always go put in my passcode for them to use their badges?
