cash sales of gift cards

For some reason, some of my cash sales for gift cards (done by themselves) do not show on my iPad POS for when my employees are balancing the cash drawer.  All the cash sales show, except for a $50 gift card bought with cash.  My cash sales on the iPad POS will say $120, but on my dashboard, it says $170. To make matters worse, today a customer bought a gift card with a coffee and that gift card is reflected in the cash totals on the IPad POS, but not the $50 bought earlier in the day.  

This makes it extremely challenging when my employees are balancing their drawer and they think they are long when they actually balance.

Totally frustrated right now.

Hey there @RevocupSouth - I'd recommend taking a look at this thread where @ryanwanner and @GlassJudy teamed up to tackle the difficult question about what happens when you sell a Square Gift Card.

If things are still feeling murky after a peek at that thread, please give us a call or email in. Something sounds off about the cash drawer recognizing one Gift Card cash sale and not recognizing the other Gift Card cash sale. We want to make sure your drawers are balancing correctly, but we would need to take a closer look at your account and reports than we're able to here in the Community.
