I have not used my square reader for approximately six months. I am wanting to use it now and it will not load

Which reader do you have? Do you have the latest Square update on your device? By saying "not loading," do you mean the device doesn't recognize that the reader is plugged in?

I have never loaded an update.
The Square app only shows continuous "loading" and will not open.

If you still can't open the app can you let me know what device you're using, as well as the version of Android or iOS software running on your device?
I am using for the first time my iPad and bought a new reader so it easy to slide the charge cards. On iPhone it was a bit hard to slide the cards. I clicked on the icon but it just keep loading and loading.

That sounds really weird, did you purchase our Square Chip Card Reader? Also did you run into this loading issue on your iPhone and iPad?
