Why hasn't SQUARE made it to where customers can DONATE to a NONPROFIT rather than leave a tip?!?!?!

We see patients/clients daily with our company Ultrasound-Services LLC and our patients/clients can leave a tip, but they can't leave a DONATION for our nonprofit Merkel Educational Foundation, a 501c3. 

Ultrasound-Services would like to add DONATE alongside TIP on the Square Checkout. 

Merkel Educational Foundation also uses SQUARE to process payments for indigent patients who can't affort to seek treatment at typical out patient facilities bc the costs are so high. 

I'd like to get SQUARE involved in helping customers help nonprofits, by adding this simple fix to checkout.

That sounds like a great idea - not just for non-profits, but for any business who might be interested in collecting for charitable causes.  As a work-around, how about making a non-taxable item named Charitable Contribution, at a variable price?  Both the customer and you would have trackable history on the amount of the contributions for your individual tax purposes.  The drawback is that the customer would have to ask you about making the contribution instead of initiating it him/herself, or you'd have to ask if the customer were interested in making a contribution, but I am personally uncomfortable with doing that as it puts the customer on the spot.
