Why can't I change my payment date for direct deposit?

I am trying to set up payroll for my contractors. Why am I not able to change my payment date for direct deposit? It keeps defaulting to one day day before my desired pay date.

I checked in with our Payroll team and they informed me that while you can choose any pay period for contractor payments, the actual pay date will always be 4 business days after you run payroll.

This might be an instance where you're trying to run payroll one day too late.
