Why are comped items showing in the sales report?

When I comp and item to open it for in house use it showed in my sales report sold with the full value. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a better way to open a product for a tester while keeping track of inventory opened. I would like to track the items being used in house.

You Sales report should show that it is Sold but then have the value of the product taken out in your Discounts and Comps section of your Sales Report.

You can also view Comps in the Comps section of your Online Dashboard.  

You will want to make sure you are zeroing out the Sale by pressing charge, $0.00 Cash so it knows to resolve the sale if you have not already.
