Could anyone tell me what is meant by the question ''Country''asked when setting a square account up, is it the country of residence ,or the country of citizenship?
Hello @AMD! It sounds like you're referring to the dropdown list when you sign up for Square at squareup.com. That should default to the country you are located in, in order to sign up for Square and take payments. So if you're in the US you'll see United States automatically and don't need to make any changes.
Keep in mind, for security purposes banking industry regulations and federal law require Square to request additional information when signing up to confirm that you’re either a citizen or a permanent resident of the United States. That information is required to accept cards with Square.
