We want to give away gift cards for an event. How do we load a gift card without taking a payment?

We would like to give away gift cards. Is it possible to load them without taking payment? Do we simply use payment "other'"? Thank you!

you can ring up a Gift card and then apply a 100% discount to it, or the specific dollar amount discount.  the card will be loaded for the full amount but no money will have to exchange in the transaction.
