Can someone help me understand why the charge button is not working? I'm trying to submit a cash payment and it is not going through. Please advise
Hmm, are you entering the amount first, @PixiePearl?
If you haven't entered added an item or typed in the charge amount, the app may not move on to the payment screen. Let me know if that's not the case!
This is happening to my colleagues and I when we enter credit card payments on a PC - ALL FIELDS ARE COMPLETED AND PAYMENT BUTTON IS ACTIVATED, but absolutely nothing happens when it is clicked. (Well, it blinks, confirming that it has been clicked on, but processing doesn't proceed.)
This is occurring more and more frequently and is very frustrating. We have tried editing (typing over) fields that are already filled in, in an attempt to trigger action, but it does not help. The only action we can take is to log out of Square and log back in, and we are busy - we do not have time for that!!!

The issue might be that your Reader is not setup correctly. With Square the Chip readers are not Plug and Play devices. You need to go through the App or in this case the Virtual Terminal to setup your Card Reader.

This could be why your computer is not Charging a Credit card for payment.
Thanks, Keith. But we do not use "chip readers". No devices (other than PCs). We do not have actual credit cards, just numbers to enter (including security code and zip code as requested). Again, we are strictly entering charges on a PC, using the Virtual Terminal.
There are other issues that have plagued us with Square since we started using it, but this one began fairly recently. And it happens several times a day to each of us now. Very frustrating.

I don't see any disruption currently with the Virtual Terminal. Can you verify some more details, so I can better assist?
1) What browser are you using?
2) Have you tried clearing your history and cache?
3) If you can, please provide a photo of what you see.

Microsoft Edge
Version 109.0.1518.140 (Official build) (64-bit)

*** Pretty sure the fact that we are not using the most updated version of Windows (hence the older versions of the browsers) will be cited as the reason for the behavior. (Our tech guy is working on getting us upgraded.) But at least we will have it documented by someone, which may or may not help accelerate the process...

3) Not sure how to show a picture of it not working, but this is what the screen looks like when all payment details have been filled in and the Charge button is activated. When the Charge button is clicked on, it merely blinks - does not actually process the charge.
