We recently integrated Doordash into Square orders and it has been helpful to consolidate the orders to one device, but we have run into the issue of scheduled orders not printing until right before they are due. This is fine unless the item they ordered is out of stock when the time comes to fill it. When they placed the order several hours prior it may have been in stock but if the order has gone unnoticed during a rush it will get missed. This then requires us to take extra time to then call the customer and let them down because we missed the order. This has been an issue since we set up the online store 2 years ago but we tend to get more specific order times from Doordash customers so it has been far more prevalent since the integration.
Is there a way to make upcoming orders for the same day automatically print regardless of the scheduled pickup time and prep time?
Hi @Joe_Ross,
We ran into this as well when we first integrated DoorDash. There isn't anything that can be done on the Square side, it's actually DoorDash that doesn't send them until the prep time specified in DoorDash is reached. To my knowledge the only way to potentially work around that that would be to turn off scheduled orders (not sure if that's possible in DoorDash, we had to do that for a time in GrubHub) or extend the prep time, but unfortunately neither of those are good solutions.
