Set up shop with Square app

How do I set up Square w a shop on line app I use for my business.  When I’m in the app -ask for cc, I usually enter manually. This is all new to me. Thanks!

Do you have any of the square card readers? You shouldn't have to manually enter the cc numbers.

Yes.  The app says add payment. So at that point I swipe?

After you tap Charge in the app you can swipe your customer's card using the reader!

If you're seeing 'Add Card/Add Gift Card' you might have tapped Split in the top right by mistake.

When you tap Split, it allows customers to split their payment between different forms of tender — for example, between their debit card and a gift card, or between a debit card and cash. If you didn't mean to tap split, tap the arrow in the top left to go back a step!
