Service Charge For Services

Hello,

I'm a wedding DJ and notice there is an option to add a Service Charge for booking clients. Because I live in California, would this be illegal to add a charge because they are using a Credit/Debit Card?

Or should I raise my prices as a whole and adjust accordingly?

I love the split Invoice feature as I can take a Deposit (prefer the term "Retainer") for booking services then final payment 2 weeks prior to event.

HI, yes, it is illegal for California business to add surcharge for credit cards.  Yes, raise prices as a whole to cover extra fees.
