Selling in a hospital, does their WiFi not being TLS 1.2 have any effect on my customers security?

Hello we are wanting to sell products in our doctors office in a hospital.  The IT Dept said we should not be using the hospital wifi because it is not TLS 1.2 and the data is vulnerable to attacks. Is there validity to this?  Doesnt square encrypt before data is sent over the internet?  Any white papers or technical sheets I could provide to the IT dept would make this easier.

The data is encrypted before even leaving the card reader.

Hey @wiegandn - You and @VanKalkerFarms are correct. The data is encrypted as soon as the card is swiped, dipped, or tapped before the information is sent from the reader to your device.
