Re: Round-up option for non-profit donation

Re: Round-up option for non-profit donation

Square, please add this right away.  I have been asking you all for this for literally years (as a nonprofit ourselves, we would like to give patrons an option to round up to donate to us), but businesses also need the option to help local charities.  When change is in short supply as it is now, this is even more important than ever.  It's undoubtedly a simple option to add, and most of your competitors have it.

Thank you!

Hi @username, this request has been previously submitted by another seller.

We appreciate you sharing your business use case and why it would be valuable for you. I have merged your submission with the other request here. I went ahead and merged your post with this request too.

If you know of any fellow Seller Community members who would like to see this built out as well, feel free to tag them in your post so they can share their thoughts as well! The more sellers chime in to the request, the more likely it is to catch our product team's eye.

So, if anyone from Square is still listening... this missing feature may be costing you business.

Our charity has been on Square for 3 months now. I've been able to train our ~25 once-a-week volunteer cashiers to do the math & add an item to the cart. However, we often have cart-level discounts like "20% for seniors" day, and drilling down to remove the discount from the round-up in the cart is so much of a pain that our cashiers simply skip asking for a round-up, particularly if there's a line at checkout, which is often. Square is missing revenue from fees on the round up amounts that we're not collecting.

A couple weeks ago one of our customers asked me how our Square experience has been going, as he was exploring POS options for his own operation. This issue was one of the several negatives I cited. I did give Square an overall "pretty good" rating, but he was happy to get a list of our pain points, so he could research if other POS offerings handled them better. Square is missing revenue from potential customers who go elsewhere after hearing that highly requested features - even over many years - don't get addressed by the development team.

<daydream>I wish the Square software were open source. Square could benefit from users who need a feature so much they code it themselves and share back into the code base for everyone, with Square still earning revenue from the services provided: credit card processing, loyalty tracking, etc.</daydream>

Hey there @Lynn_TRU I am sorry, I know it's not easy waiting,  but our team is still tracking this request. But it doesn't look like they have it on the roadmap currently.

I would add your voice to this request and we will make sure to let you know as soon as anything changes.

Thank you so much for your patience, and input again!

Quite frankly, it’s ridiculous that we don’t have this feature.  There must be a reason why.  Just tell us the truth.  Really sad.
there are many reasons why square is a great partner, but this sours the relationship to an extent.

Another plea. Can we please have a representative from the development team make a statement as to why this sorely missed feature is being brushed off?

Reminder to sign the petition….

share it with friends, family, customers!

The higher the number might just be enough of an eye opener for them to actually get this done!

Square, please have a senior management official explain to us why there has been no movement on a feature that was promised to many of us years ago?

We have been waiting years for this and we are now looking to move to another processor.  Square has also fail to be able to allow proper treatment of our tax exempt status.

Actually your response is BS   Square could do this easily  but there in no money in it for them.  So it is time to look at another platform.  We are loosing 1000's of dollars with out this feature.

This is not a good answer.  This is the same answer we've been getting for over three years now.
