Re: Round-up option for non-profit donation

Re: Round-up option for non-profit donation

Square, please add this right away.  I have been asking you all for this for literally years (as a nonprofit ourselves, we would like to give patrons an option to round up to donate to us), but businesses also need the option to help local charities.  When change is in short supply as it is now, this is even more important than ever.  It's undoubtedly a simple option to add, and most of your competitors have it.

Thank you!

I have a donation jar that benefits local families and someone suggested this round up feature to me today. I certainly could see this work so much better and easier than asking people if they wish to donate such and such amount when they use a card. They simply throw change in my jar, but most do not use the card option to give in, and I believe they most certainly would if this option was readily available without taking any more of their time for me to figure it out!!

You know Joe, it would really be a great Christmas present from Square 🙂

Seems like a super-easy way to get some great publicity by just coding this into the next hardware update and then all you have to do is start pointing to stories as communities give via the round up feature!

I definitely agree, @bushhead311! We can do our best to push it up the pipeline, and we will let you know ASAP as soon as something comes available.

Cheers!

I made a twitter to tell Jack. 🙂

Hiya @bushhead311,

Thanks for your added input on this feature request!

I don't have a timeline on when this will be available but I would encourage you to check out our Beta Community to join and potentially get access to new features first when we test them out.

How do I round up a sale to the nearest dollar on Square?

Right now I add it in my head.

Hi there, @divineresale 👋 Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Seller Community!

Currently, there is no formal way to round up sales in real time. However, I've gone ahead and merged your post into an existing thread of Sellers who were also looking for information regarding rounding up transactions.

Take a look at this Best Answer from this same thread, it will provide some extra context here.

In addition to a designated button on the app, I would also like to see it possible to be able to link it to the recipient of the the round up amount, for example a non-profit organization.  This would mean that the seller wouldn't need to be responsible for forwarding funds.  I hope this makes sense.

I want to bump this and say that's DEFINITELY something we need a small non-profit organization.
