Right hardware for small nonprofit with need for cash register?

I am with a small nonprofit and we currently use the square chip reader to process transactions off site.  However, I am looking for something to use onsite in lieu of a cash register so I am interested in suggestions on which hardware package is right for me.  I need to process sales of different categories and receive donations.  I am leaning towards Square for Retail but appreciate any suggestions.  Thanks in advance!

Hello @tfaferty! I would be happy to help you. I have a couple questions about your business and needs before I make a suggestion. Square for Retail is actually a Point of Sale software that we offer. Were you referring to Square Register? 

 

  1. What's your budget? 
  2. Do you want to provide printed receipts?
  3. Do you have a lot of items? 
  4. Do you have WiFi at your onsite location? 
  5. What's your average ticket size? 
  6. Do you plan on accepting cash payments? 
  7. Does your county require a customer facing display? 
  8. Do you need the ability to access other apps?
