Refunds with discount

How does square handle refunds that have had a discount applied to them? Are the discounts automatically reversed?

@LIF Square will only refund the actual amount charged.  So if you had a 10$ item that sold for 10.00 - 10% discount = 9.00 + tax the refund would be 9.00+Tax.

Does this answer your question?

Square should have the optionality to NOT APPLY THE DISCOUNT to a refund.  We issue specific discounts that only apply to specific items on our invoices, not across the board.  When we refund an item that was on that invoice the discount is applied automatically (pro-rated) despite having nothing to do with the sale of that item.  This is inaccurate, but the only way we can have it automatically adjust inventory is to select refund the item (with the incorrect amount).  Then we need to go back and make a second refund for the difference.  This is a total mess and absolutely absurd process when dealing with inventory management and refunds.  I mean seriously, do your programers even think through processes before they set them up.  Totally backwards.  Creates more work for the customer (as always).
