I have an employee who completed a trasaction yesterday under another employee's name by accident. Is there a way to re-assign this transaction to the correct employee from my square dashboard so the correct person get credit for the sale and tip?
Only way to change this is to return and rering the sale. If this is a credit card sale I wouldn’t.
When will this be resolved?!!! This is a huge issue!
I'm beginning to wonder if I selected the right system.
Square bills itself as the most versatile system, but I've now seen several threads spanning several years of "enhancements" being ignored. This one, the ability to reassign a sale post transaction, is yet another example of a functionality that, frankly, should have been available from the get-go, but the fact that it's been requested for years with little to no response, let alone a resolution, speaks to a corporate strategy that's all about getting customer, but not about keeping them.
It would be great if you could reassign a check, but the employee giving up the check would have to enter their id # to approve the change.

Not having this feature is a huge pain, and damaging to our business. Square you need to fix this.

Make your product team and highly paid PMs do the work of grabbing those insights from these forums. There's enough information here for them to build a proper product. It's offensive that you expect your customers to do that work for you. Make the product better. That's what we're paying you for 🙂
Square for Restaurants: Until recently, we WERE able to assign a completed sale to another employee in the Transactions screen on the IPad during the same business day. This screen has recently changed and the "reassign" option is no longer available. I see that many have requested this feature and I used it last week so the 'fix' to this major complaint did exist but no longer.
Hey there @BigSprayBrewing my recommendation here will be to reach out to the Restaurants team so they can shine a light on where this feature is now located. This change in the app should not affect app functionality so I am sure it may just have changed locations.
The team can be reached at 855-700-6000 between 6 am - 6 pm Pacific Time Monday-Friday. If you call outside of these hours, you will be required to enter your Customer Code to validate your account.
Why is this feature available in Restaurants but not Appointments? That doesn't make sense.
Another user here asking for this to be fixed. It doesn't make sense to me that someone with ADMIN permissions is denied the option to edit an incorrect ticket.

As a business owner this is extremely frustrating to not have accurate reporting from the point of the mistake forward. Huge product issue that HAS to be resolved!

I worked in corporate for many years along side web and app developers this should have been fixed in the first year it was raised but here we are 6 years later and nothing a very simple request come on square!!!
Another user wondering why this hasn't been resolved yet. I understand if line employees cant make the change, but administrators of the account should have the ability.
I am bumping this conversation again.
Today I logged into Square and processed a sale and later realized that I hadn't logged out of my contractors account (she must have put her pin in and then didn't log out after processing her sale). So now the transaction is under her name, which screws up my reports and confuses things. We plan to hire on other contractors and employees and this could present problems for payroll and accounting.
Square users have seemed to have issues with this all the way back in 2017. Square seems to be offering nothing in return except condolences.
When is this going to get fixed? It doesn't seem like a big issue to solve at all.
