Yesterday I was trying to add a Discount for my Earrings that we make. We sell then for $8.99 each or 3 for 20. When I make up an automatically applied discount for this I have 2 options. Have the $20.00 be actually $20.01 or $19.98. The reason for this is Square drops the Price of Each item to either $6.67 or $6.66 but I would need each Item at 6.66667 for example. If I set it up as a sell by unit I can get the $20 but then this is not automatically applied as I scan 3 sets of earrings. I did make a Barcode for a 3 pack of earrings but now this is for the category not individual items. So that does not work completely right either. When I scan that barcode it asks for a Quantity.... 1 Scanned the Barcode 1 time so ONE!!!
Next issue is since they are all unique, I can not have the earrings in a Category to apply the Discount to multiple earrings and have the price work out correctly. Next issue with Sell by units is that each earring would NOT be out of 1 Inventory pool.
Solution would be to enable us sellers / Businesses to have a set Sale price for set Quantity instead of forcing us to do the math to figure out the $ discount then find out it does not workout correctly.
Hey @Candlestore, I'm going to consult the team that owns Discounts on this one to get the best answer for you. I'll reach back out to you here once I gather more info!
Hi there again, @Candlestore 👋
I asked around and this is not currently available. It sounds like what you're asking for here is the ability to offer a “fixed price discount”. Our product manager says there are discussions on potentially implementing this new feature but nothing is concrete yet. So this would be a feature request.
