My Daily Square report shows all 4 sales for the day included in Gross Sales but below that (in Item Sales) only 3 of the items are listed. Why???

Just a guess, but perhaps the final sale occurred past your set cut-off time for the end of the business day? I believe the default is 5:00 pm local time unless you've changed it in your settings.
Thank you VERY much for taking the time to reply. The time was not the problem. I just got off the phone with support (which was not available on the weekend). To start off I was having problems with the tax that I entered was not being added on. The customer was waiting and so as a work around I had used "Custom amount" so that I could charge the correct amount (with tax included). THAT "Custom" charge does not come up as an item. Now I know. I told the Square rep that it would be a huge help to have an actual manual available online particularly since help is not available on the weekends.

Glad our Customer Success team was able to get you taken care of @imaquila and sorry for the confusion around this.
We can do a better job of explaining this, as I can see how it would throw you off when looking at your sales reports.
A good way to spot check your sales is to use the Transaction report for the day, which will reflect each specific sale in the event there are a few Custom Amount payments that slip by.
