The answer to your question is yes. I have a café and each order to be made is printed so we don't write tickets anymore and greatly diminished errors that way. But you have a pay attention on how you design your system: I use a lot of modifiers, some that add cost, some that don't.
In the case of a shaved ice shop I could imagine having several price points depending on the size and then modifiers that make the cashier chose the flavor or flavors. If you offer too many flavors to have them all down in the screen, the cashier could just type it in when taking the order.
In any case, program it, play with it and make changes that work for you.
The order ticket doesn't show the price which makes them easier to read than a receipt. And if you have other products that do not need printing, place them in a different category and select not to print that category
