Not seeing tax or shipping amounts when I click on my item link to purchase. Help!

I have an FB business page, not a shop, nor do I have a Square website, but I know I can post links to each item in my Square inventory in an FB post. I did that. The link works, but the 6% tax that I thought I set up is not showing up on the checkout page. Neither is the shipping. Did I do something, or not do something wrong? Also, is there a way for a customer to click local pick up or in-house delivery, rather than the shipping option--**bleep**uming I ever get the shipping option to appear?

Hello @PAFA,

Thanks for reaching out. We see its your first time in the Seller Community, welcome!

Just so that I make sure I'm understanding correctly, Are you referring to Checkout links that you've copied and pasted?

@PAFA Taxes will not show up in checkout links unless all your customers reside in the same state as you do.

You will need to fully onboard and set up a Square Online store then set up the tax rules accordingly for this to occur the way you intend it to.

You can set up taxes for Square Online from your Square Online Overview page in Settings > Sales Taxes or Shared Settings > Sales Taxes.

You’ll find several options to choose from depending on what your needs are and where business is located.

Note: Tax settings from your Square Item Library don’t sync to Square Online.

I have also included this Support Article for your visibility that goes more in depth with setting up taxes.

Please let me know if you have any further questions. 😊

Thank you for your help, Frida. I am confused, though, as I tried to checkout as a customer--and I, of course, live in the same state as my business. It sounds like I have more setting up to do, but I did create the tax and the shipping fee within the Square Online set up--and even if the tax wasn't working,  why wouldn't my flat rate shipping fee come up? Sorry--this is way more overwhelming than I imagined.

On another topic, I saw that there may be a 3% transaction fee--in addition to the credit card processing charge when someone purchases online. Is that right? I thought with the Square Online I would only be charged a slightly higher transaction fee, but there were no other costs--unless I pay the monthly hosting fee of $12 for the basic plan.
