I keep getting this error when trying to import inventory. How do I fix this?
parse.go:178: Fee with name Local Tax Rate doesn't exist.
I am getting a very similar error: "Fee with name FL sales tax doesn't exist." I created a sales tax for most items. I created a simple export file in csv format and I did not edit it. When file was imported to another square account and confirmed, this error occurred and import failed. I tried many different combinations of turning sales tax on and off, changing item locations, etc. without any help. Do I need to purge items for account not importing correctly? How do I purge items?
@jpoldo1 were you using the template .csv files that are available within the dashboard or was this a file that was created by you outside of your Square Dashboard?
I was using a file created in Dashboard by using Export on one of our company's accounts, then Import on another company account. Our company has 3 accounts.
To test the software with a smaller/simplier file, a few minutes ago I created one item in an empty account. Using Dashboard, the file was exported, then imported to another empty account using Dashbord. Error is: "Parse.go.182: Fee with name FL sales tax doesn't exist." Even when I disable sales tax for item, error remains. Got a workaround until this is fixed?
CSV imports can be tricky to troubleshoot, as they're difficult to replicate without having your exact item file.
I went to replicate this and I wasn't able to get the same error you were seeing. Can you provide a screenshot by any chance?
It might be a good idea to give our Support Team a call. This way they can get your item file and also walk through trying to import the file with you on the phone.
New troubleshooting information on export/import dashboard problem: Sales tax was removed for entire account, then dashboard used for file export. Using another account, fiel was imported using dashboard and error was: "Unknown token TTGR3BE2..........................." Am I doing something wrong or is there a workaround for this bug ?
I never could get the file to transfer. I used several different files that members of my company had. I ended up emailing suppoet and was connected to a man named Michael who after several attempts with the different files was about to get the information transferred. He was AMAZING! I highly recommend emailing so they can try and transfer the information from their end!
