My customer paid requested deposit and I accidentl y recorded the remaining balance as paid cash how

How can I delete a cash payment that I recorded on remaining balance that a customer just paid the deposit on and I accidentally put the balance as being paid on cash and it wasn't paid on cash I'm not sure if the credit card was paid for the balance or not how can I tell
