Hi -
I sell feeder insects for reptiles. I buy the insects in bulk and then give customers the options to purchase them in various quantities. I need the main bulk amount reduced by the various quantities as they are purchased.
Example:
I buy 1000 crickets.
I offer them in quantities of 100, 250 & 500.
Right now I have each quantity package set up as individual items.
I need the main stock of 1000 crickets to be reduced by the quantity purchased i.e. if one customer buys item #201 of 100 crickets, I now have 900 in stock then the next customer buys item #202 of 250 crickets I would then have 650 in stock.
The problem is I can't give all items 1000 crickets in inventory.
How can I set things up to have multiple items reducing the main inventory? Is there a way to set up options of the same item so the customer picks the quantity they want from a drop down list or something?
Thanks!
Inventory is tracked on a per-item basis, so each item that you create will need to have its own inventory amount assigned to it.
Unfortunately there isn't really a way to have a master inventory that reduces based on a bundle item.
While item #202 may indicate that 250 crickets were sold, only the inventory of item #202 will be reduced.
