is anyone else having trouble with the mag reader. Mine only works sometimes. It seems that it doesn't work on the new thin credit cards but works on the old thick cards. It's driving me crazy. I have to manually key in most credit cards and pay the extra fee's
Hello @glassylady thanks for your post. I'm sorry you're having trouble with your mag reader. on the newer thin cards, have you tried putting a flat biz card or something else behind the credit card to add thickness so the magnetic stripe contacts better? Not sure if that would work.
Have you considered a contactless reader? I switched over from the mag stripe reader when i was doing more in person shows, and it works really well and can process contactless payments with some credit cards and phone payments. You can see if your device is compatible here. If you think this will work for you, the order page is here. I find a lot of my customers like paying with their phones or just tapping their cards, so I think it's a good investment but you'll have to see what works best for your business.
