Loyalty: Is there a way to opt in to allow the tax amount to count towards the star?

Our system is set up to reward a star for every $5 spent. When I have a customer buy a greeting card for $4.69, the total with tax is $5.02. The system does not count that as a star. Is there a way to opt in so the tax is included to reach the star? Some of my customers get crabby about it.

No, but you can go into the customer account and add the Star(s) so they get the reward.
