Loss and Stolen Items

anyone out there have advice on how to manage Inventory to identify loss or stolen merchandise.

 

I would like Square reporting to show me how many items total I have ordered by Category and Item and total sales in one report.  I dont trust the  Current Quantity that is shown in the items library, since I cant see the total we started with.

 

So I am currently taking the total I have ordered minus the total I have sold (by item) that gives me what I expect to have on hand. then I do a manual count - the difference gives me my lost or stolen items.  

 

Trying to find a way to streamline

There's currently not a way through Square Inventory to account for theft or damaged items and count those items as a loss. 

 

The workaround that you mentioned is actually the best solution that I can think of, as a few other sellers that I've spoken to were using the same method for this.
