Hello,
I am trying to set up a modifier for personalizing apparel. I created a modifier set called "personalize" and added options for block lettering and another for script lettering. I set the required modifiers to "0" and maximum modifiers to "1" because this is optional and they are only allowed one style choice.
When I tested this on the store, I was able to select BOTH styles of lettering online, but only ONE style in the app.
What am I doing incorrectly? I just want to limit the number of lettering styles people can select online.

I'm having the same issue. Want customers to choose between "Autographed" and "Personalized" - not having the ability to choose both. Please advise! Thanks.

I just added a new item to my library. I set up some modifiers with it. I had to customize some of them to choose only one, a few to choose many. When I use my register in store it works perfectly, like it is supposed to. When I go to the online store and look, they all say choose many. I have tried to remove them and reinstall them and they still do not work. As soon as I remove the modifier I go to the online store and it is gone. I put it back in and go online and it reappears. But they never list the choose one option even though when you go the customize tab in the item, the modifer lists choose 1. I added a previously set modifier with a choose one only option to the item and it works fine. SOOOOOOO many problems with the square platform.

Check out the information in this thread. We're actively working to get this resolved. We'll update this thread as soon as we have more information from our Engineering Team.
I went and grabbed an unused modifier that i had previously set with the choose 1 option. I changed the wording and options but did not change the actual modifier number, it actually has it listed in the options as none. It worked fine. The modifier was created months ago before sqaure changed the way you set the modifiers. So it seems that any previously set modifiers, (pre update), work as they should, and the new ones that are created are not being coded properly to set the options as needed.
I'm having the same exact issue. Hoping to see it resolved soon!
While I don't have an exact timeline on when the issue will be fixed, I wanted to you all know that our Engineering Team has been made aware of this and they are actively looking into a solution.
Hopefully we can get this resolved for you all in the near future. Keep an eye out for updates and if there are any sellers that have a workaround that they've implemented please share!
Ok. Thanks for letting us know you are working on this. I want to launch our store at the end of the month and really hope it is fixed by then. Don't want to have the store be confusing to customers right off the bat...
has anyone found a fix for this yet? My customers choose size/color (material).

It's actually already possible to allow customers to choose both a colour, and size with options, and variations. If you haven't already gotten started, take a look at this article. It would also be great if you could let us a bit more about how you're hoping to set this up, so we can give you some more specific advice or workarounds. Looking forward to hearing back from you 🙂

I finally did figure it out.. I am moving my site from a WordPress site and it is not quite up yet. I went to the Weebly site and just kept trying until it worked.
I have set modifiers for chain length for pendants.. wood species, length, etc for kitchenware.
I am a little slow, but working on it.
I will read the article later this evening.
