I've read the articles about managing discounts and how to apply them. However, I am unable to apply a discount to a single item in an order. The overall order discount is accomplished by creating discounts which appear in your items list.
However, when wanting to apply a discount on a single item within an order, tapping that item under Current Sale brings up the item and the only options I have are to Add a Note or increase/decrease the quantity. The other fields (i.e., discounts, tax, etc.) that are referenced in the online articles are not on my iPad.
I have updated the app just to be certain I was using the most current version, but no joy.
Any ideas anyone?
So in the items menu do you have discounts setup?
On mine I have 10% thru 50% in 5% increments. And each of those discounts shows up under the item while I am adding items and while editing an item already added to a transaction.
Yes, there are two discounts - one for $5 and one for a variable percentage (my preference in most cases). However, neither of these show up as options when I tap on the item from the current sale.
I think I (sort of) figured it out, but believe there's a bug. Fixed percentage and dollar amount discounts show up. Variable discounts do not. So if I have five items and I want to manually discount each by a difference percentage, I can't. If I add the variable discount to the order as a separate item, I can go in to each previous item and disallow the variable discount, but not add it to each item separately.
