Is there any rhyme or reason to the time of day that Sync with Square (Square > Quickbooks) runs?

(I posted this same question in the Intuit Community Forum and was then directed here.)

We are a hair salon with odd hours, depending on our client appointments. Sync with Square was running too early in the day initially, so I our changed our "Close of Day" hours in the Square Desktop, and while it seemed to help initially (though I still did not follow the business hours), there is now no rhyme or reason to when Sync with Square runs. Here are the last several sync times:

1/4/18: 10:03 pm
1/2/18: 2:54 am
12/31/17: 10:35 pm
12/29/17: 11:40 pm
12/28/17: 10:35 pm
12/24/17: 10:59 pm
12/23/17: 11:53 pm

Even though we have our close of day in Square set at 4 am (our first ever sync happened at 7:18 pm, so I chose a very late close of day), the Sync with Square app doesn't seem to follow that. Frequently one of our stylists is working past 9 pm, and occasionally, we have art openings that run late, and I want the the option of running a credit card the duration of the event and having it sync with the other deposits from the same business day. How would it work for a pub that is open to 2 am?

I realize the transactions all sync individually, along with the fees charged, but when I go over them the next day, I'd much prefer the sync for the sales on, as an example, 1/4/18, AT LEAST include all of 1/4/18, if it's not going to follow the hours I set in Square. In this particular case, the sync was at 10:03 pm, almost two hours before the end of the day.

Any help is appreciated.
