Basically exactly what the title says. I use options pretty often and I would really like them to show up like modifiers on the website, as individual dropdown menus rather than one long list.
Example: I own a yarn store. We sell many types of knitting needles in steel, wood, and bamboo. Each material is available as single-point, double-point, and circular, and each those comes in around 20 different thicknesses.
Circular knitting needles alone come in 7 different lengths, and the single- and double-points each come in 2 different lengths. Right now I have each length as an individual item and the thicknesses as variations, meaning that between the circulars, single-points, and double-points we have at least 11 different items for each material when fully stocked. That's 33 items. Link to our online store here for reference. This is very confusing for people (especially beginners) since it looks like the same item is showing multiple times (it is not).
I'd much rather have just 3 item listings per material. One for single-points, one for double-points, and one for circulars. That way the customer can simply click on the photo for the type of needle they want, then use one dropdown menu to select the length, and a second for thickness. This would bring it down to only 9 items instead of 33 which is much more approachable for people.
I cannot use modifiers for this purpose as they are not linked to inventory.
Hi @HermitThrush. I looked at your web site. But I can’t find an item that has an overwhelming list of options on it. Can you point me to a specific item? You can’t currently make options list like modifiers do. But there MIGHT be a workaround, thought I can’t guarantee it. I need to see an example that is eluding me at the moment. Point me to a specific item, please.
Thanks!
