[The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Square Donation set up]
Hi so I have been using square for a few years now and I just started branching out to do Community Events. At these event I request donations for the next event so my expenses aren't as drastic. I am a small local business in my area and I am my only employee. Is there a way to set up Square Terminal to be Client friendly so that I don't have to be at the table receiving donations since I am constantly needed elsewhere (because I have to run the event and talk to people)
Ex. Leaving Square terminal unlocked on a safe mode that would allow someone to walk up, Type how much they want to donate and enter their information, and all they have to do is the tap or swipe? ( without needing my assistance)
Is there another way to do this that I haven't found yet?
Hey @Mherradajr-
Thanks for posting in the Seller Community.
I see how this would be helpful. As of right now, we don't have a "customer/client checkout" functionality or feature. As a workaround, you could limit the Team Management permissions so when customers are using the Square Terminal, they only have the ability to use the checkout, and cannot view or make any adjustments. It would be up to you to teach your customers/clients how to check themselves out, and trust them to do so.
You can create the permission set in the Team section of the Online Dashboard. You could name the set "client checkout," and turn everything but checkout off:
I hope this is a helpful suggestion. I'll make sure to post an update in this thread if I hear anything about the development/launch of a client checkout feature or setting.
