I don't see a way to do both category sales and payment methods directly, but you can build a custom report.  From your computer's Dashboard, click on Reports, then at the bottom of the menu bar, Custom Reports.  The first screen you get allows you to set the date range you want to report on, a time range (i.e.: 9 am - 5 pm), which location you want (if you have more than one) and how you want it displayed (custom, daily, weekly, or monthly.)  Set those as you wish, then click on Create New Report.  The next screen lets you customize the report.  At the bottom of the screen, click Add Report and you'll be given a menu of possible reports to access.  Pick which one(s) you want.  If you decide you don't want a certain report, click the 'X' in upper right corner of that section, and it will be deleted.  You can save the report if you are going to use it over.

I have tried the custom report and it will not correlate category to payment type in a summary format.  Is there a way daily to see a summary of how categories were paid ie  Category 1  500 cash 200 credit card

category 2 200 cash 100 credit card etc??

I want a weekly total of categories paid in cash.  Credit cards need to be balanced daily.

I found report on payment type used but what I cannot find is how the categories were broken by cash and credit card.

Is there a way to create a report that shows what was purchased by cash payments? I'd like to do a report once a week that would show the actual items purchased with cash.
