Is it possible to require a customer be added to each sale?

We use our P.O.S. in a small community for which we need to track sales. When we forget to add the customer to the sale, we lose the ability to collect on it. We don't want to use invoices.

Is it possible make adding a customer a requirement for the sale to complete?

Thanks!

currently, there is not a way to force it to make you add a customer.  If you go thru a sale you can go to the transactions on your dashboard and add a customer to a previous sale.  https://squareup.com/dashboard/sales/transactions

Hi all,

I work by myself, having a driving school. Customers can pay when booking, or I can take square payments after the appointment.

I take credit cards, or log cash payments in square also.

At the end of the day I like to reconcile payments, to make sure I haven't missed anything.

I don't want to add customers into the system as sometimes I may only see them once for a licence test.

Is there a way to add a quick reference, like a name, to the sale without going through the whole long add customer window?

Kind regards David

Hi @highwayoneds and welcome to the Community.

I moved your post to one of the existing threads that goes over adding customers to the sale.

The only way to do so is by adding them to the directory but as a workaround I've seen some sellers type in the name of the customer/client as the item for the sale so it shows up in transaction reporting. Might not be ideal to have these one-time customers in your item library though.
