What does an invoice reminder look like? Is it merely a “copy” of the original invoice, with some additional wording or something? I would like to know exactly what it will look like to my customer before I send it. A related question: can one modify/customize a reminder?

An invoice reminder is an exact copy of what the original invoice looked like when it was first sent. The only difference is that you can include a note that shows up on the reminder. The email subject line will also say "You have an invoice waiting".

Excellent question about invoices! Yes, you can include a message or note on the invoices.
There is a default option to set up for each invoice you create. To set your template, go to your Dashboard > Invoices > Settings > Invoices > Edit.
If you'd like to customize your message, you would do that at the time you create the invoice.
