Not sure if there is a more accurate way to do this, but I run it through my Square POS like a normal sale. Then when recording payment method, I choose Other Payment Types and record the payment as a donation. That way the item is removed from my active inventory, and I can track it as a donation when I run reports. Maybe there are other options, but this works for me.
