I use 2 different tablets at 2 different locations on Saturdays, how can I tell which sale goes to which tablet?
Hey @dmolenaar & @jjgard -
@jjgard is right about naming an iOS device through iTunes for personal reference. You can also name a device for use with Point of Sale to track sales by device.
From the Square Point of Sale app, tap the three horizontal lines in the corner:
Once you assign a device name, you can view which device accepted each payment by downloading your transactions as a .CSV from your Dashboard. 👍
I was stumped by this as well. If you're using iPads, you can go into the iPad settings (not the Square App settings) and adjust the name of the device. For example, my devices all tend to default to 'Jeremiah's iPhone' and 'Jeremiah's iPad' when I first set them up with my iTunes log in info. Once I adjusted those names in the device settings, Square started showing them by those device names.

I am trying to assign device names, however, I dont see "general" or "device name" under settings on the ipad.
Any suggestions?
Did anyone find a solution for this? I had the different ipads named and after a reset all of a sudden they are all "ipad"!
Ive tried settings on the ipad and on square and have not been able to rename.
Any help?
Hey there @ED2023
You can change the name of your iPad, which is used by iCloud, AirDrop, your Personal Hotspot, and your computer.
Go to Settings
on your iPad (not the Square Point of Sale settings) > General > About > Name.
Tap
, enter a new name, then tap Done.
I hope this information is helpful!
