We have some sales that we need to add tax others are tax included...how do you do that?
each item that you create you ca set to be either taxable or non-taxable and you can even set multiple rates and choose which one. https://squareup.com/help/us/en/article/5404-create-and-manage-items-with-square-point-of-sale

In my jurisdiction the sale of taxable spirits must include a non-taxable 10-cent container deposit. There appears to be no way to set this up using Square.
you would have to set up a separate item for deposits that is non-taxable. There are so many different tax laws in the 1,000s and 1,000s of different tax jurisdictions that they aren't all built directly in.
Thanks, yes I figured as much. I have done that as a short-term solution, but it's hardly an ideal option as I will have to remember each time I sell a bottle to add the fee, or a case of bottles add six fees (pain in the butt). Then if I forget to add it, I pay it out of my own pocket – which is why it would be preferable if Square would allow grouping of purchases following a "If This, Then That" style of programming logic. (i.e. if a bottle is sold, attach a non-taxable container fee. Seems so simple, right?
Cheers.
