Currently Square is not compatible with Windows or OSX. You can use tablets, and cell phones though.
I have used an Android emulator on a Windows Surface computer before which allowed me to run the Square app, and run cards, but it was slow and horribly annoying to use.
The emulator I used was called Bluestacks. Installing it allows you to run cell phone and tablet apps on your computer.
