I added a new employee with restricted access to reports, but Square register is not requiring a password. How do we use the same POS register with different permissions?
You need to turn employee management on in the app. Go to Menu / Settings / Employee Management / There you can turn on passcode access and adjust other settings. Before you do this make sure you know your admin passcode. You can find this in the dashboard.
Is passcode authentication the only way to block access to Balance, etc on the POS Menu? It seems to me that without turning on passcodes it defaults to administrative access.
It sounds like you have a team member who is not able to access everything within your Square account, but you aren't sure why they don't have full access - is that right, @crystalimages?
If so, I can confirm that passcodes are not the only way to restrict team members from accessing certain functionalities. You can take a closer look at the permission sets you've created here, and double-check which permissions you've granted individual team members here.
