Currently, searching by categories is not avalible on the iOS mobile App. We have received this feature request before, I will make sure to pass it along to our Product Team.

Most of our volunteers for our nonprofit have iPhones and we use Square at our fundraising events. We really need to be able to seperate our items list by Category otherwise it makes it very difficult to navigate through our list to find a specific item. Those that have a Samsung phone are able to. This has been the case for two years now. Please tell me you are working on this.
There should be a dislike option for that response. Lot's of people use iphones. How can you still not have categories after years? We are about to switch away, sorry, and this is one of the reasons. Makes accounting a pain. Square really needs to fix this.
