How to get new employees into payroll that are enterd by my staff.

I have 8 locations, each with two managers who hire part time 1099's workers.  I don't give my managers full access so they can't enter new hires into payroll.  But... can they enter new employees in the "employees" tab and will I be able to enter them into payroll from my end?  2nd part question:  Is there anyway to make multipule emplolyees go inactive in payroll without haveing to do them one by one?

That's a good question @BeauC

There is a permission setting for managing employees on your Square Dashboard. Once you've navigated to the Team section select Permissions from the top of the page. Click on your manager role and scroll down to Access Dashboard and enable Manage Employees

With this permission enabled, your managers will be able to setup Employees accounts. If they setup the 1099 workers with the Team Permissions role you will be able to add them to payroll on your end.

I don't know if we have a way to bulk remove multiple employees from Square Payroll. I kind of doubt it, since we don't have this for employee profiles, but I will check with our Payroll Team to get you an answer. 🙂

Thanks for the quick reply!  I'm still wondering if there is a better way to get new hires into the system that dosn't require me to do everyone.  Your option of having my managers create a new employee and mark them as mobile staff works, however I don't really want each new hire to get emails asking them to sign up for a square account when all they need to do is punch in and punch out.  The perfect soultion for me would be to allow payroll access to my managers so they can enter new hires directly from the payroll tab, OR... have a employee permission that is time clock only.

I see @BeauC, currently this is the only setup that can fill most of your needs.

I'll definitely make sure to pass your feedback along to the Employee Management Team and our Payroll Team.

Also, we do not have a way to bulk remove employees from payroll. I will share this one with the Payroll Team as well. 🙂
