How to adjust PPP payment if you need more employees now than before the pandemic.

I opened and ran my business with my mother as the main other employee for the past year. We did have other employees, but they worked sparingly, usually 7 or 8 total hours Monday through Thursday for both employees, and a total of around 14-16 hrs per total per day on Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

Because of Covid, I can't have my mother in the store anymore. Thus, I have to hire someone to take her spot as I cannot take care of the shop alone. Thus, I am adding 3 to 4 extra hours per day Monday and Tuesday. I am adding 7 extra hours on Friday. The weekends are roughly the same, we just go with more of a skeleton crew.

The PPP I received doesn't reflect what I actually need due to the crisis. It reflects the filed 941s from last year, when my mother helped. Without her help, payroll has doubled.

Is there anyway I can show this to the government to receive income enough to reflect the change I needed to make in my business?

I am currently losing money and if I can't keep up with my current payroll, I may need to close.

Hey @HoboBonobo Thanks for reaching out about this and I'm really sorry to hear about your PPP loan. We unfortunately wouldn't have the answer to whether or not you can adjust the amount of your loan, but I have sent an escalated case over to our Capital Support team detailing your post. Please keep an eye out on your email for any outreach from them.

If you run into any trouble, please don't hesitate to let me know. I'm here to help!
