how do I check the total tips for the day on my square app? I don't see any options for sales reports or tip reports at all on the app

Ah I see! Being able to see the tip information by employee can only be done with a Team Management subscription.

At this time, you can only view tips within your online Square Dashboard. If you need to view total tip amounts on your mobile device, you'll need to open up your web browser and head to your Sales Summary report.

Can it show tips by shift in the report or only tips by day?
You can filter by hour, specfic time range, employee and tons of other custom options. At the top of your Sales Summary, you can simply click the All Day option and filter by time range or the Advanced Options to select other specific filters.

Hey @FGSF, I went to check on this and there are not any updates that I can share out at this time. So that I can surface some more insight with our Point of Sale Team, can you reply with a bit more on why displaying this in-app is important for your workflow?
We allow our staff to do their own tip payouts. Having the abilty to report in app allows them to see how many tips they've earned and then pay those tips out.
Having this in app takes one step out of my employees getting their tips and they can get their tips at the end of their shift with no involvement with the back-office.
My sales summary does not let me filter sales by employee, only device or source. therefore i cannot get a total for tips earned by employee

Thank you for your first post. It looks like we did a redesign and eliminated that "Advanced Options". But don't worry the options that resided under there are given their own spot at the top of the Sales Summary - "Display By" and "Filter By".

Yes. From Reports > Sales Summary, use the Source filter to generate a sales report for Online store sales and Register sales. Below, you'll see a separate line with tip totals.
Hello! I was reading through this and wanted to know if there was a way to filter transactions to show ones that include a tip? For example - I manage a chiropractic office that also does massage. Occasionally we have patients that leave tips for the therapists. I'd like to be able to look at these transactions on their own so I can make sure these tips are being applied to the correct therapist.
Having a filter allows me to view them quicker instead of having to go through an entire days worth of transactions whilst attempting to pinpoint the one with the tip.

At the time there's not a way to filter transactions by ones with tips.
