How do you add sales tax on shipping for taxable items only?

In my state it is required that sales tax is charged on shipping when taxable items are being shipped. However, when non taxable items are being shipped then sales tax should not be applied to shipping. In my square dashboard I found the option to add sales tax to shipping for my site, however there is no option to remove the shipping sales tax when tax exempt items are being shipped. Can you please advise me on how to set this up?

Hi @LuluZ I don't believe it is possible to remove the tax on shipping for certain items since the setting is a universal setting. I recommend reaching out to our support team here to confirm. A rep can escalate the issue to the appropriate team if it turns out the tax settings/calculator are not working properly.
