How do i set up Square US Site When I am a UK Based Citizen?

Hey Everyone 😁

Based here in Sunny Scotland, UK and wanting to set up a US Square Site as we will be selling in the USA soon. However, when I try to create a US account I need to provide my US Home Address which I don't currently have. If i go ahead and just create a site on the UK site of Square then all currencies show in Pounds Sterling £ - What is the best work around? How can I use Square to have a US site when I don't reside there?

Thanks,

Troy

You won' be able to do that unil you have a registered business address in the USA or one the IRS recognises.

If your business is based in the United States but operates overseas, you might be able to qualify for the foreign earned income exclusion (FEIE), which exempts some of your earned income from U.S. taxes.

Or get a registered agent with a physical address and then apply for an EIN (employer ID number)

If you're intending to set up a site in the UK you intend to solely use in the states then when you move there - create the site in the UK - register your new adress in the USA and your site will automatically change to the countries currency you are based in.  If you're hoping for a currency converter - might be something on the roadmap, for future - that's a big ask
